Hi everyone!

What are the differences between the professional pack and its API included, and the SDK that comes with enterprise pack? Where is the SDK documentation? What’s the way to know what can I do with API and what with SKD? For example, in case I want to put text over the horizontals bars of the market profile histogram? Or whether I want to put some bubbles moving around the surface screen like a screensaver?

Hi there!

The version of SciChart ‘SciChart WPF 2D Professional’ includes all our 2D Chart types, DirectX hardware acceleration, allowing you to create realtime WPF applications with millions of data-points.

SciChart WPF SDK Professional includes 2D and 3D Chart types.

The Bundle product types include licenses for all our platforms, currently WPF, iOS, Android, Xamarin and soon Mac OSX, JavaScript. We have three bundle products:

  • Bundle 2D Professional (2D Charts, all platforms)
  • Bundle SDK Professional (2D + 3D Charts, all platforms)
  • Bundle SDK Enterprise (2D + 3D Charts + Source code, all platforms)

Note that the source-code includes the C# source for SciChart WPF but some parts of the C++ library – the Visual Xccelerator engine are shipped as compiled code. These are held in escrow for our customers and customisation can be performed by our team for a fee.

Regarding your questions:

  • What’s the way to know what can I do with API and what with SDK? For example, in case I want to put text over the horizontals bars of the market profile histogram?

This is a separate question and our team are looking into it

  • Or whether I want to put some bubbles moving around the surface screen like a screensaver?

If you write down your requirements we can answer.

I would say lastly that the documentation which is here shows all the features of SciChart. If it is a documented feature, then SciChart supports it out of the box. Not out of the box features (customisation) we cannot guarantee. Our team is also available for a fee to customise and augment SciChart WPF should you need it.

Best regards,
Andrew
