Hi,
is there any way I can set in the XAML that the walls of the axis cube will be visible independent of how the cube is rotated? I’m rendering a drilling hole in 3D space and want to the ground plane(the top wall) and the two back planes to always be visible even if the user rotates the cube so they are infront of the rendered line. Is that possible?
Kind regards,
Karl-Petter

Hi Karl
I spoke to the WPF Chart team over this today and they said that we can control the Axis Label visibility but not the Axis Cube wall to show the top wall always.
It would require a code change, a very small one, but a code change nonetheless.
So there’s two options:
-
Is you can use our brand spanking new features request system to request a feature! However I will be honest unless you get a lot of votes on it quickly it might not be done asap.
-
is, should you decide to become a SciChart customer and purchase the source-code, we can show you in code where to change to get the desired behaviour. The Axis wall visibility is done automatically based on the direction of the camera and the axes themselves. However it would not be hard to change a few lines just on your fork of the code to achieve what you want.
Let me know if this helps, and if you have any more questions, please ask.
Best regards,
Andrew

Thanks for the thorough answer. I’ll continue with my investigation of libraries but then I know I can get around this if we decide to license SciChart. Thanks!

Thank you Karl. I did double check and it is possible to do this – I found the code where the change is, just making code changes requires a process here which is why I suggested options (1) and (2). Here’s a screenshot. https://www.scichart.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/axis-cube-visibility.png If you have any other questions, feel free to contact sales, and either myself or my colleague Julia will be glad to answer.
