Hi, I’m currently trialing SciChart 6.5 to try out the new parallel coordinate plot. I’m up and running but have a couple questions that I wasn’t able to figure out on my own.
- I have a use case where I want to completely clear out the parallel coordinate data and replace it with new data. I’m using MVVM and binding my ParallelCoordinateDataSource from my view model but it looks like the old data remains after setting my ParallelCoordinateDataSource view model property to my new set of data.
Edit: Looks like the YAxes collection on the plot surface are not being cleared and contain my old data as well as the new data.
Edit 2: If I clear all but the first axis manually, then things work how I want. Not sure if this is a bug or just not intended behavior for this plot, but I’m good on this question now.
- Is there a way to hide a ParallelCoordinateDataItem within the ParallelCoordinateDataSource? I want to have a chooser that can show/hide the different data but I don’t see a way to do that on the interfaces.
Hopefully those make sense, and thank you in advance!

Hi Matthew, as its a new feature we just released, it might not be a use case we’ve tried. Can you shortcut our investigation time & create a small project on GitHub to share with our team? They’d be happy to help. Best regards, Andrew

Hi Matthew,
Thanks for your questions. As Andrew mentioned in comments, ParallelCoordinatesPlot is a new feature build with a basic set of requirements that we had. So probably many useful features aren’t there.
As you found out, there is no API way to clear PCP and refill it with new data. Also, hiding a particular ParallelCoordinateDataItem is not supported yet.
If you could describe desired features & corresponding behaviors, we will review them and consider adding them to ParallelCoordinatePlot. You could use our Feature Request system for that. This will allow other people to vote for particular features.
Also you can send us a list of requirements through other channels of communication.
Thank you beforehand.
Best regards,
Yuriy
