Performance degrades at a much higher rate when adding FastBandSeries (with multiple axes) when compared to FastLineSeries (with one Y-Axis)

I have this demo project that shows the rendering stuttering that occurs when panning the FastBand Chart. To ensure that this is not some performance hit of purely having multiple Y-Axes, you can simply add one series and the behavior persists. (As well as I know there are examples with multiple Y-Axes with line series that are blazing fast).

I would really like to get to the bottom of this as the one chart type is dragging down the performance of our product overall.

Below the demo project is attached.

It has been 3 weeks since I’ve posted with no input or feedback — quite unacceptable.

This has gone unanswered for months. Not even a comment. We are paying customers — This is really not okay. Is there something that tracks paying customer post or issues?

Hi Riley,

Community forums are there for the community, while support tickets are there for paying customers. Why not open a ticket? You should get a response from us within a day. See http://support.scichart.com/index.php?/Tickets/Submit for the ticket submit page.

Regarding the issue, we are aware of a performance issue with Band series. It has to do a lot of calculations to find the polygons, then draw them. Unfortunately at this time there is nothing we can do to improve this. We may come back to it at a later date, but we can’t promise anything.

Best regards,
Andrew

Hi Andrew. I guess I must have mis-interpreted the ticket page. I saw “PRO” and thought that was source-code paying customers only. *(For SciChart Professional & Source-Code Customers). I guess I didn’t realize that paying == Professional. That explains a great deal.

We should be monitoring the forums better – we had a really insanely busy time recently leading up to v5 release (released yesterday!) and I do apologise to you for slack service. The tickets are there though and they’re always ‘in our face’ so we can’t forget about them. Forum Q’s easier to drop off the radar. Your two issues (Band perf and Axis order) are noted. The Axis Order we can fix, Band Perf probably not so easy. If we do fix them as a courtesy gesture I’ll extend your support for free. Best regards, Andrew
