Hi,

Is there any way to create a multipane chart in WPF like it done using Sub-Charts API in JavaScript chart where it shares same WebGL chart surface.

I know the way it is done using SciChartGroup where there are multiple SciChartSurfaces added to the group in order to create multipane chart, but if it can be done the way it is done in JavaScript charts, it will improve WPF chart performance drastically I think.

Chandra

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for your quick response!
Performance wise, I think adding charts on top of each other like you mentioned in your example above or adding via CustomAnnotation will be same as creating multiple pane chart using SciChartGroup.

I am wondering if there is a way to have multiple verticle section of an SciChartSurface which can have separate axis in each section or there is way to a set of x-axis and y-axis as a single entity and arrange them on any SciChartSurface in a vertically stacked manner.

I think creating a stack of X-Axis will be possible if we properly calculate the margins for each axis properly and associate series via Axis ID, but not sure how to have a separate Y-Axis for each such X-Axis.

Any suggestion to achieve this would be great!

Chandra

Hi Chandra

SubCharts API is an innovation unique to SciChart.js, it can’t be done with SciChart WPF at the moment. There would be some performance improvements by rendering many charts on the same DirectX surface but it wouldn’t be as dramatic as what we observed in JS.

For WPF you can simply place a chart over a chart using WPF layout. E.g.

<Grid>
    <SciChartSurface/>
    <SciChartSurface/>
</Grid>

You can also place a chart within a chart using CustomAnnotation and place it at a specific data-point!
