Hi,

Can someone let me know if Scichart is fast when it comes to rendering say 1000’s/10000’s line series on a single chart. I know its very fast for a series with lots of points, however I would be creating lots of series with < 500 points each up to 10k series on a chart. I could possibly limit it to 1000 series by sampling the data. This would be fastline series.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for your enquiry! We have an internal test case where we can draw 2000 lines series of 500 points each but it does take 1 second to append all data and do the intial redraw. After that it redraws at around 1-2FPS.

We also have a test-case where we append 500 line series of 500 points and it draws pretty fast (at interactive framerates).

Would you like me to send you the test-case so you can try out on your side?

Best regards,
Andrew

Hi Andrew, Thanks, this is for a monte carlo run, so I wanted to show each line as it is completed. I did this using MSChart using event after each run (of 10k) and it drew each line but after a few hundred it started to slow down to a crawl. I will try and code this same thing up using a SciChart and let you know the results. Mark

Hi Mark, I've created a quick youtube video to show the perf of 1000 series x 500 points. At higher series counts it chokes but at 1000 it's quite usable. Take a look let me know what you think! Best regards, Andrew

Andrew, Thanks for the video, it looks great. I wouldn't need to interact with the chart, just to visualise the general trend of the runs. 500 series are enough to represent the result. Thanks again, love the dark theme VS 2012, same as mine :) Mark
