I have a problem I need to correct so I can Remote Debug —
I have Scichart licensing installed on both the Remote Windows Device and my Local Development machine, which the Serial key entered on both machines.
If I run in release mode, not through Remote Debugging, the chart renders on the remote machine.
If I run either Debug or Release mode on my local developer machine, the chart renders on the developer machine.
HOWEVER, if I try Remote Debug session, the application runs, but the SciChart screen just gives me the Not Licensed display.
Why ? and is there a workaround…
Note that the remote machine does not have an internet connection – as it talks over the ethernet on a peer-to-peer connected instrument. There is only that one ethernet adapter on the remote machine. My developer machine has 2 ethernet connections – one direct IP to the peer-to-peer network group, to communicate to the remote machine to remote debug, and one wireless connection with DHCP to access the internet.

Hi Levi, just going through our forums doing a sweep and found this unanswered question. Did you find a solution to it or is it still active? I’ve made the team aware.

Hi Levi,
We would suggest you to start application without debbugging and tell us if it is working.
Then attach a Debugger to to the running app.
Please tell if this information was helpful. If you will have any other question please do not hesitate to write to us.

I can run a release mode build by itself on the remote machine and it renders the chart.
I cannot run a debug version stand-alone on the remote machine -because the remote machine doesn’t have enough memory to run the visual studio development environment – it has only 4gb ram and I can’t install the debug libraries needed. That’s why I’d like to run the debug version from the VS ide in the remote machine. Everything in the app runs in this mode fine except Sci chart shows the unlicensed screen display.

Hi Levi, Thanks for your reply. Could you please clarify whether you have the debugging environment (any IDE) on your remote machine or you just run an application built in the debug mode? Also, please let me know if you set Runtime Key in your application. Thanks in advance. With best regards, Oleksandr

– I have no IDE environment on the remote machine, it wont fit. I copy the Debug binaries / Versions of the application as built from a development machine over to the remote machine, then start Remote Debug in the IDE of the development machine, pointing to the remote machine. – I have the runtime license coded into the application

Hi Levi, can you start the app remotely then attach the remote debug to it afterward? Or is that not possible with remote debugging
