After installing the SciChart Licensing Wizard (for current user only), the Wizard hangs and does not display anything, which means I cannot activate the my license.

Hi Patric, Thank you for reporting this. I am sorry for the late reply. Could you please clarify is this happening to our new Cross Platform Licensing Wizard? https://www.scichart.com/cross-platform-licensing-wizard/ Thanks in advance.

Patric are you able to make your computer available to us for remote debugging? We have a very small subset of customers reporting this but so far we are unable to reproduce on our test PCs.

Hi Patric

The SciChart Licensing Wizard v6+ uses Electron & Chromium, a framework to package cross-platform web applications as desktop applications on end-user PCs.

A small subset of our users have reported that the SciChart Licensing Wizard is blank (black screen or white screen) on startup.

We have done some testing and managed to reproduce it on one Windows 7 x64 PC. We found the following workaround on the Electron GitHub page. Can you please try it and confirm if this workaround works?

  1. Navigate in explorer to %HomePath%\AppData\Local\Programs\SciChart Licensing Wizard\
  2. Then, at the command line execute this command

    > "SciChart Licensing Wizard.exe" --disable-gpu

Note: %HomePath% should be C:/Users/Current_Username

See the attached screenshot showing the licensing wizard working on a PC which previously had the black screen error.

SciChart Licensing Wizard blank screen problem

Let me know if this solves the problem

Best regards,
Andrew
