Are you able to plot slices in X and Y direction in the new V5 3D waterfall plot? Just like what you can do in the example waterfall plot in 2D.

Hmmm … no it doesn’t do this, it only plots slices in the X-Y plane and then multiple slices in Z.

We could potentially flip it 90 degrees via a transform… Can I ask what you needed it for ?

Best regards,
Andrew

Andrew,

Thanks. We may interpret the xy plan differently. Anyway, in your drawing, one would like to draw a slice along the z direction to get a ZY 2D curve, assuming the Y is the vertical axis in your drawing. The user will be able to move this slice along the X axis. A 2D (ZY) can be plotted at specified X position in a separate plot. This is very similar to your 2D waterfall example except in this case, we would like to replace the 2D waterfall with 3D but still has the capability of moving the slices. This type of plot is useful in spectrum analysis (e.g. NVH order tracking).

Thanks for the help.
