{"id":1939,"date":"2019-04-23T09:40:36","date_gmt":"2019-04-23T08:40:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.scichart.com\/2019\/04\/23\/queens-award-innovation\/"},"modified":"2024-01-31T09:31:13","modified_gmt":"2024-01-31T09:31:13","slug":"queens-award-innovation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.scichart.com\/queens-award-innovation\/","title":{"rendered":"SciChart wins coveted Queens Award for Enterprise, Innovation 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p>Today we have an exciting announcement to make about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scichart.com\">SciChart: High Performance Realtime Charts<\/a>!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>After years of researching and developing cutting-edge technologies to bring big-data, realtime charting to the Windows, iOS &amp; Android platforms, <strong>SciChart has been awarded the coveted Queens Award for Enterprise, Innovation category.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What are the Queen\u2019s Awards?<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/queensawardsmagazine.com\/\">Queen\u2019s Awards for Enterprise<\/a> are for outstanding achievement by UK businesses in the categories of Innovation, International Trade, Sustainable Development or Promoting Opportunity through Social Mobility.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>It is the Innovation category which SciChart has been awarded, and we are proud to be one of only 61 companies to win this category in the U.K. in 2019.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What are the Criteria to Win?<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>In the category of Innovation, a company must demonstrate that it meets the strict <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/queens-awards-for-enterprise\/eligibility\">criteria<\/a>, which include:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Creating an innovation that has not been sold before.<\/li>\r\n<li>Having the innovation available on the market for at least 2 years.<\/li>\r\n<li>Has recovered all the investments made in the innovation or show that the innovation will recover its full costs in future.<\/li>\r\n<li>Has shown outstanding commercial success as a result of innovation over 2 years &#8211; or continuous commercial success over 5 years.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How did SciChart meet these criteria?<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Innovation<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>In the case of SciChart, we were able to demonstrate our novel &amp; innovative technology in two areas: mixing of graphics rasterization technology with the much slower immediate-mode rendering provided by platforms such as WPF to dramatically speed up business and scientific charts, as well as novel data-reduction and lossless resampling algorithms enabling large datasets to be displayed in record time on desktop, mobile devices and embedded systems.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>This results in our best-selling software component, which enables you to add <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scichart.com\/why-scichart-high-performance-realtime-big-data-charts\/\">extremely fast charts to your scientific, medical, financial and business applications<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-26280\" src=\"https:\/\/www.scichart.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/scichart_scientific-web-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/>\r\n<figcaption>SciChart: used by the University of Illinois in cutting-edge IR Spectroscopy imaging research<\/figcaption>\r\n<\/figure>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>These changes have dramatically shifted the market, first in <a href=\"https:\/\/scichart.com\/wpf-chart-features\">WPF (Windows desktop) charts<\/a> and now in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scichart.com\/ios-chart-features\/\">iOS Charts<\/a> &amp; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scichart.com\/android-chart-features\/\">Android mobile charts<\/a>, where prior to SciChart\u2019s existence it was simply not possible to display big-data or real-time charts with large datasets on these platforms.
