Roundup of SciChart v3.2 BETA Feedback so far

We’ve received some great feedback from the SciChart v3.2 BETA so far. Here is what you’ve told us, and what we are aware of (and working on).

DirectX Not Working in Win7 or Win8.1 unless DirectX SDK Installed

We are aware of this, the workaround is to include D3DX9_43.dll in your exe or output directory. This DLL is available in the DirectX June 2010 Runtime. We will be adding this to the next installer of SciChart v3.2.

New Install = Trial Expired

We are aware that a new install of SciChart v3.2 = Trial Expired, even if you have never previously installed SciChart. We are working on this and will have it fixed in the next installer of SciChart v3.2.

Spammy Newsletter / Repeated Email Newsletters

Due to a fault in our support desk, our site hasĀ been sending out repeated newsletters to our subscribers. Many users contacted us to say they received tens or even hundreds of emails on Friday. The support-desk newsletter function has been killed, and soon we aim to replace it with a more tried and tested newsletter mechanism – with unsubscribe.

You should no longer be receiving emails from us about updates. If you are, then contact-us, the newsletter plugin is not yet dead.

Many users without serial keys

Many users are concerned they do not have serial keys to activate SciChart v3.2.

If your support is not expired, you can contact-us and we will re-issue you a license certificate with serial key.

There is nothing untoward here, we just don’t want to bulk email our customers unless necessary. Contact us to get your serial!

Activation Issues with AntiVirus

One user reported issues with Activation but it was resolved when AntiVirus was turned off. Please note our activation makes a simple REST HTTP call passing over your USERNAME, HASH OF PASSWORD, SERIAL KEY, returning an design time license key. Some AntiVirus may block this as malicious activity.

If you experience problems with activation (so far only one user has, which is very encouraging), then we have a manual override.

Is there anything else?

We need to hear your feedback to improve our products & services so feel free to contact us with BETA feedback.

Best regards,
[SciChart Support]
