I have a use case where I want to use an axes custom layout strategy, but also need the charts to be in a vertical group.
Since the vertical group will just create its own LayoutManager and use the default strategies, it ends up overriding mine.
I could override just after adding the chart to the vertical group, but then I’d have to manage that away from the configuration step (I may add charts to the group dynamically).

Example: https://codepen.io/jrfv/full/wvNEXNm

To be clear, for now I’ll work around this like I mentioned above, just wanted to ask if it makes sense for you as well that the SciChartVerticalGroup should respect current layout strategies, instead of using the default ones.

Thanks!

Hi João

I’ve created task SCJS-1677 SciChartVerticalGroup resets LayoutManager on chart to make a note of this

You’re right, when a SciChartVerticalGroup is applied to a chart then it resets the LayoutManager

The workaround as you’ve discovered is to apply a custom LayoutManager after applying SciChartVerticalGroup.

The task above is a placeholder to come back and investigate this when we have some time.

Thanks for reporting!

Best regards,
Andrew
