Hello.

It’s very strange, but chart can not be zoomed with pinch, only by double tap fitting full screen.
And when trying to zoom app freezes and CPU load became 100%.

Hi,

I’m trying to achieve the looks of DateTimeCategory XAxis as shown on uploaded screenshot.

Formatting a single row of tick labels is not a hard task (setTextFormatting). The problem arises when there are 2 rows with same frequency (days of the week and dates) and third row with lower frequency (years).

I tried using new line character in text formatting property to break the line for days and dates and it didn’t work. I also tried having two axes bound to the same data series, each one having different formatting and majorDelta, but it seems that they don’t stack up (only first one added is shown).

Any ideas?

I have a scroll view containing (among others) subviews with SciChart surfaces. I use this method:

 [self.scrollView.layer renderInContext:UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext()];

… to take a screenshot of the whole scroll view (render it as a UIImage). All charts are rendered as black rectangles. Same thing happens if I use “Capture view hierarchy” in XCode – black rectangles where there should be a chart.

Any ideas?

i want to implement a custom modifier to track the users touch, similar to rollover but without displaying a view

I tried to do this by implementing SCIGestureModifier and overriding all the onTouches methods, but – no matter the user behaviour – the modifier will always receive an onTouchesCancelled event after about a second and receive no more of these events after that.

What does work is implement onPanGesture to actually track all the user’s movement but i don’t see any way of how you would receive a touch up event this way (which i do need)

Is there any fundamental misunderstanding on how this should work on my side?

It seems most of the modifiers bring up tooltip data with a pan, and then it goes away when the user lifts their finger. Is there any way to bring up tooltip data with a tap (and does not go away when the finger has lifted)? The main problem that we’re trying to solve is that we would like to be able to pan to look at the chart (and don’t want an axis pan), but would also like to bring up tooltip data.

Hi,

I have a very simple iOS project in XCode 13 which uses Swift. The project has a tab bar controller with two tabs. The first tab brings up a sample home screen and the second tab initializes a blank SciChart graph.

I want to eventually be able to sometimes change what data is shown on the graph (via Bluetooth), and therefore I want to run my graph code every time the tab for the graph is selected. I put all my code for SciChart inside:

override func viewWillAppear(_ animated: Bool)

and this almost works fine, but declaring

let surface = SCIChartSurface() inside of override func viewWillAppear(_ animated: Bool)

seems to be causing some sort of memory leak. Switching between tabs often causes my app to crash and XCode reports the following error message: “Terminated due to memory issue”

Is there a better way to initialize my graph to prevent this memory leak? Or is there way to flush the “surface” variable from memory when transitioning between tabs to prevent this memory issue from occurring?

When i try to add SCITextAnnotation and text color is white, a gray outline appears around the symbol (triangle).
How can I turn it off or change the color?

I was testing my charts on a simulator and when I naved away and then back to the chart screen the Simulator’s chart was totally black screen; I could move the mouse over the points and the popouts would occur; and your license notice showed in the center of the chart. So it was almost like it thought all the drawing for the chart itself needed to be black on black.

It was always broken on the 2nd or later chart. Restarting the app fixed it. I tried removing all custom settings, and calling the invalidate; and nothing caused it to redraw correctly… Fortunately, when deploying to real devices everything worked correctly. Is this an expected side effect of testing on a simulator, or is their something that I can do to force a hard refresh of the chart…

FYI: The additional debug diagnostics don’t seem to do anything on a simulator, or at least I couldn’t find anywhere it was logged.

I’m trying to add annotations on a chart but they are rendering above my legend.

Initially (similar to most of the demo code I’ve seen), I setup my modifiers, then created my series and animated them in — then added my annotations (adding to annotationGroup). This created a timeline of blank chart surface with legend (good so far), annotations popping in before the chart series animated in (weird / not good) and on TOP of the legend (really bad), then the animation of the series after that.

I’ve tried about everything I can think of and the best I’ve been able to do is use a completion block of the animation rendering the series — and moved my chart modifiers (and legend) into that completion block. If I put the annotations in the completion block, they will render after the chart modifier and I have the same problem (even if placed after the chart modifiers). I have to set the annotations before the animation, and then the chart modifier in the completion block will work and the legend will be above the . Of course, this is a bit odd too — as first my annotations pop up by themselves on the blank surface, followed by my series animating in, then at the end of the 2 second animation, the legend just pops in.

I really would like my legend to be rendered first on the blank surface and the annotations and chart series to animate in together under my legend. I’m gathering that’s unlikely (at least the animation part) — but is there anyway I can place my legend first and still have the annotations go under it? It feels like the layers should be: modifiers > annotations > rendered series. I also I’ve read this order before in some WPF docs I believe, but doesn’t seem to be respected on iOS?

UPDATE: My current work around isn’t sufficient because I really need access to the renderable series to create the annotations which means I really can’t defer my chart modifiers (i.e. legend) until after the annotations. Additionally, if I need to update (remove / re-add) an annotation due to a series being deactivated in the legend, now my annotations are on top of the legend again.

I want to hide the axis and the place occupied by the axis on xammarin.iOS, i’am using below code to do the same, the problem here is it does hide the axis but it is not removing the place occupied by axis,

Axis.IsVisible = false;

is it the right way to hide the axis and remove the place occupied by it, or am I missing something here.

We’re using Xamarin.Forms. We were using iOS build 5019 and Android build 4441 and we had a custom DatelabelProvider set on our X axis in both platforms which worked fine.

However after updating to latest builds (5022 and 4459), the provider’s FormatLabel (FormatLabelFormatted on Android) isn’t being called and the default label formatting is applied.

I tried implementing pinch zooming for real time chart in the demo project(FIFO Performance Demo and ECG Monitor Demo) and found that it’s not possible.

I used the following code:

We are trying to migrate to V3 in our iOS project and we have many issues.
One of the most important is the implementation of vertically-draggable horizontal lines.
I have a nice working code for SCICharts V2 but I cannot find any similar example of how we can implement a custom modifier for moving an SCIHorizontalLineAnnotation vertically in V3.
We have done it already with the V2 but now that we have to migrate to V3 there is a huge missing part in your documentation.
Our code was using-overiding onPanGesture() in order to figure out if the modifier should handle the touching event, then we were using the touch point in order to find the closer horizontal lines and choose the closest one in order to change the vertical value depending on the touching-changing point.
The only similar example that I found in your documentation (https://www.scichart.com/example/ios-custom-modifier/) is using SCIGestureModifier which is not accesible by the V3.
I am trying to use your SCIChartModifierBase class but cannot find anywhere a similar example of what we need.
I already tried to understand how you want us to use the ” override func onEvent(_ args: SCIModifierEventArgs!) ” function of the
SCIChartModifierBase but still no luck, it is impossible to figure out without any kind of a similar example.
The reason of needing an example is that this task needs much more information like these:
1. How to decide if the modifier should handle the touch event and how it should be ignored or handled by the next modifier in the same group ?
2. How to handle the touch started, changed, cancelled events ?
3. How to say in realtime to other modifiers in the same group that we need to to handle the same event simultaneously with this custom modifier ?
4. How to say to the group of modifiers that after the first modifer is taken the touch event then the rest should not use it ?

I will paste here our current implementation that we have done for V2 and needs to be transformed to V3 in case you need more details.

An important part is how we add the modifiers on the chart and this is how we are doing it right now:

We have lots of Point Markers in our series that overlap, so we’re trying to find a way to Cluster them in Android and iOS. I can see that there is an SCIPointMarkerClusterizer. Can you give us some pointers on how we can achieve point marker clustering and/or spacing?

I would like to add a corner radius (to give rounded corners) to the SciChart rollover tooltip in iOS. I saw that there is a “tooltipCornerRadius” property in “SCITooltipModifierStyleProtocol”, but I am having trouble figuring out how to use this. Can someone point me in the right direction?

I’m trying to limit the x-axis panning up to an annotation that I’ve drawn on the graph. This annotation can be beyond the current data’s position (i.e. data’s timestamp is at 5/4/2017 11:00:00, annotation’s position is at 5/4/2017 16:00:00). Is there a method, or any way that I can use to limit the x-axis panning up to the annotation’s position instead of limiting it to the data series’ max X?

Im tryin to create an effect where I have a static point on the Y Axis and I want to perform zoom in, so what I did is to increase or decrease the Max visible range, what I’m left with is the rubber band effect where my static point isn’t static anymore because the point in “Stretching” in the direction I’m zooming.

When search this forum, I found that we can achieve it by adding point marker. But I am getting this error when trying to add point marker :
‘Operation: setPointMarker: is not avaliable on type: SCIHorizontallyStackedColumnsCollection’

let me know this feature(round top corners of bars) is availble or not ! Or is there any way to do this ?

We updated scichart to 2.5.0 version and got issue:
We have SCIAxisMarkerAnnotation with market line and set markerLinePen:

I want to show x value on chart bar itself as shown in the attached image along with this query. I tried using annotation where I need to give x and y value each time and it look not appropriate in the 2 data series column chart using, instead of that I need easy way to represent label of bar value on graph bar.

I’m trying to clear a SCIUniformHeatmapDataSeries after connecting it to a SCIChartSurface, but it is very slow and energy consuming. However, if I clear the data series before it is connected to the sci chart, then the clearing is pretty fast. How can I clear the data series after it is connected to the chart surface quickly? Do I have to make a new data series, clear it, and connect to the scichartsurface every time I want to clear a data series? This is for iOS by the way.

I want to know which value he is inspecting to show him further information outside the chart for this datapoint.
